Okay okay, I need to be honest here. This is my second BirchBox, I didn't review my first one as I got it last month and I didn't blog in December. So sorry guys.
Now I have that out of the way, lets carry on.
So the first thing I realised about this box is, WHERE IS THE GODDAMN BAG?!
I thought that was lovely in the last box, something completely different compared to other beauty boxes such as GlossyBox. But no. BirchBox has gone to a tissue paper effect. I really hope it is just this month and we are back to normal next month. Pleasethanksbye.
The theme for this months blog is "Tiny Tweaks", items that can be used as part of resolutions. Really good idea don't you think? It covers most areas too, diet, skin care and hair care. Also there was a lot of hype over this box as it was going to contain a Benefit product. OooOoooOO I know.
So what did I get I hear you ask? I shall start.
Philip Kingsley Elaticizer - £27.50 75ml - www.philipkingsley.co.uk
This is a hair mask that you put on before you wash or condition your hair. Very unusual I know.
I am quite looking forward to trying out this product as it seems more to the high end of the market for hair care. It has a really silky texture but not much of a scent to it. I know a lot of people do not like a fragrance in their products. But I do, as you have to sit with this on your hair for 20 minutes, I personally want to sit there and smell half decent.
Premae Anatonmy Nutrients Instant Renewal Body Oil - £9.50 100ml - www.premaeskincare.com
I am not confident with body/face/hair oils at all. I tried the whole argon oil craze and didn't like it. But this has caught my eye. Maybe it is the packaging as I am a sucker for that but I dunno I need to give it a good test before I make my mind up.
I doesn't feel like it will leave much of a greasy touch after I have applied it either. I am currently using a Soap and Glory moisturiser so once that has all gone I will move onto this one.
I do think it is a good price for the amount you will get as well and we all love a good bargain!
Benefit Porefessional - £24.50 22ml - www.benefitcosmetics.com
I swear this thing is following me around like a bad rash. This is the second travel size sample I have now of this product.
And still I don't know if I love it yet or not!
Im not going to go into detail here, I've spoke about this before and I am sure I will talk about it again...
Lavera Basis Sensitive Hand Cream - £4.45 73g - www.lavera.com
This brand is a gluten and cruelty free brand, straight away I feel like this is going to be a good thing. I am not exactly up to date with cruelty free brands, and I probably use something that has been tested on a rabbit. But it makes me feel better knowing that this hand cream hasn't harmed anything cute and fluffy.
It smells amazing, almost a menthol smell to it. It soaks into your hands lovely and feels super soft afterwords. Also a fantastic size to pop straight into my handbag, once I have used up all of my Soap and Glory Hand Food.
Vasanti Detox Nutrient-Rich Purifying Facial Cleanser - £18 150ml - www.vasanticosmetics.com
Ill be honest I am a little scared to try this. My dear friend Charlotte Rose, used this and sent her face red.
I guess I can understand that it is a purifying cleanser and goes right down to your last layer of skin to get out all of them nasties. But I am dubious. I will try it though and who knows I may just fall in love with it.
Maybe.
Itsu Miso Soup - £2.25 3 sachets - www.itsu.com
It feels horrrrrible in the pack. All squidgy and whatnot.
But I am all for trying to healthy products and at only 42 calories a pack, its bloody fantastic as a little on the go snack!
What did you guys think to this months BirchBox?!
