What I've Learnt.....

Hello there;

I have been blogging over a year now and since me typing up my first post, I would like to think I have learnt a lot. Not only about the blogging scene, but about myself too.

- You will make the best of friends with people through Twitter. Yes, they are "internet friends". But these friends are the ones who you will go to for advice and go old chin wag about make up. Which your IRL friends probably aren't that interested in. 

- Owning a lot of make up & skincare is the norm. And when in Boots leaving without anything is very rare. Even that 20th mascara that no you didn't need the but the excuse "its for the blog" is totally legit.

- Taking 100 photos of the same moisturiser because the sun wasn't quite in the right place is okay.

- Working 36.5 hours, maintaining a blog that posts every other day, having a relationship and a social life; takes a lot of time to balance. No I still haven't 100% figured this one out. I am getting there.

- Not getting followers straightaway is fine and not having 58956895 is fine too. Blog for you, no one else.

- On the flip side of that, with every new follower that follows you I still get a little leap of excitement in my tummy.

- Getting your first PR sample makes you giddy with excitement. 

- Your phone will be on constant charge.

- Going to your first event/meet up is VERY scary. But so worth it. Stay calm, stay confident your about to meet some amazing people.

- And finally, keep it up. Don't fall at the first hurdle. What is round the corner makes it so worth while.

Obviously these are personal to me. But out of all of these points, the last one is the best advice I would give anyone. When I started Sian Marie Beauty, I never thought Lush would invite me to an event. But here I am and I am so grateful for every follower; for every reader. It is because of you I am still here and still loving every second of doing this.
