I am such a sucker for a red lip, as you most probably know. So when I saw that Blake Lively had teamed up with L'Oreal to create her perfect red, it was only a matter of time before I knew this was in my collection. Because I really needed another red...
Straight up, I love the sleek packaging. It has a leopard print sort of detailing the outer casing, with the classic looking gold finishes. This is one of them lipsticks that can sit on your dresser next too Tom Ford and will not stick out like a sore thumb.
Now if that isn't one of the most beautiful perfect reds I have ever seen, then I don't know what is! It is very much your classic Hollywood red.
It has a slight sweet scent to it, but its not as scented as some other brands such as Mac. The bullet itself is literally one of the most smoothest, creamiest lipsticks ever. Its a one swipe wonder and I know how much we love one of them. It does last a hell of a long time too. Looking at about 4 hours, as I found that this does stain my lips a touch. Now this doesn't bother me, but I thought id better let you know incase you well, hate that. On the day that I swatched this for photos, the mark was on my hand for hours after!
As this is a Color Riche from L'Oreal it has a slight matte texture to it but isn't overly drying on your lips. Obviously I apply a lip balm before applying this, to make sure my lips do not fully dry out. L'oreal do claim that this has moisturising properties to it, but myself personally haven't noticed this. But that isn't saying that it doesn't work, I'm just awkward.
As you can see from the swatch it is a blue undertoned red, a little like Ruby Woo. But I would say that this is more pigmented that Ruby Woo. This is also more comfortable to wear than Ruby Woo. A LOT more comfortable. Whereas Ruby Woo is quite heavy on your lips, Blake's Pure Red is practically weightless.
I love wearing this lipstick and seeing as it is inspired through Blake Lively, when I wear this I feel like I am Serena Van Der Woodsen. If you do not know who that is, watch Gossip Girl RIGHT NOW.
