BD Trade Secrets Is Back!

Hello there;

Do you remember seeing BD in Tesco? And then all of sudden without no warning it disappeared? No? Well I do. I work for Tesco if you didn't already know and upon my working days I get asked where certain items are. UHT milk is on aisle 7, eggs are on the last aisle, Quark is this way always in the purple box, OH you want Barbra Daly makeup? Sorry that has been discounted, I think.
I hate telling people we have stopped selling a certain item. But when I got the email from Tesco Beauty asking if I wanted to try out some of the relaunched products, how could I turn it down! I used to use Barbra Daly, I was so looking forward to seeing if I loved the products still.

I am on a massive concealer hype at the moment, whether it is to conceal a spot or to help highlight my face giving it extra dimension, I just want to conceal the hell outta my face. I decided to try out the following;
- Vital Skin Long Wear Foundation in Natural Skin 2
- Camouflage Face Concealer in Camo 1
- Light-Effect Concealer in 1
LOOOOONGLAAAAAASH Lengthening Mascara

Vital Skin Long Wear Foundation | £9.99* | Buy Me

I have been after a really light weight foundation for a little while now but if I am perfectly honest I had no clue where to start. So I took this chance to try out this foundation. Upon first application I found this so easy to blend out it is quite a runny formulation in comparison to what I would usually use. Seeing as I picked this from a list I was worried I would have picked the wrong colour but its a really good match for when I am pale.

It comes with a pump already installed which I LOVE. I hate nothing more than having to purchase a pump extra, I am looking at you MAC or having to try and tip it out on the back of your hand and you pretty much showering yourself in it.

I found this foundation lasted around 7 hours on me without falling off my face too much. Which for me, is about average for a foundation. I'm a face toucher. It helped even out my skin tone and covered up any imperfections on my skin that keep cropping up at the moment quite well. I think you could easily build this up to be a full coverage foundation with a couple of extra layers but for me, it is just what I have been looking forward too.

Camouflage Face Concealer - Camo 1 | £3.99* | Buy Me

Since venturing out from my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer rut, I have been really welcoming new concealers with open arms. I actually picked this little guy through recommendation from a work colleague Terri (Hi if you are reading). She said that it was her favourite concealer ever, so purely through that I needed to give it ago! It comes in a tiny plastic compact which in comparison to the foundation seems a little cheaper but it is a touch cheaper too, so I will forgive it.

If I am honest this wasn't my favourite. It's too light coverage for me, I'm so used to using thick concealers that this didn't really cut it for me. It was fab for covering up little spots on my face but other than that I wasn't keen. I mean don't get me wrong it is a really creamy formula and blended out very easily but it's not my Collection, sorry -insert single tear emoji-

Light-Effect Concealer Pen - 1 | £7.99* | Buy Me

Well bugger me. Where has this been all my life?! Seriously where?! I have loved using this concealer pen as a highlighter it works wonders for me. A couple of twists on the bottom throw it all over my face, blend blend blend and boom! Done. Unlike the Camouflage Concealer, this is a lot thicker. I have been teaming this up with my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer and these really are my dream team when it comes to concealing my face.

It is a little more pinky peachy to other concealers I have used in the past but it works wonders on my skin. It catches the light and you can see how it makes your skin look radiant. Out of all of the four products I have tried this is the one I would recommend first. I cannot praise it enough.

LooooongLaaaaash Lengthening Mascara | £5.99* | Buy Me

Basically, I picked this for the cute name. But I am a mascara hoarder so its all cool. This mascara is great for a day to day look when you are wanting fluttery eyelashes. I found that is lasted about 5 hours before I noticed that it started to wear off. It really does lengthen your lashes and with the brush being thin, you can easily get down into the corners to capture every lash. I wouldn't wear this on a night out as its not dramatic enough for me for that. But like I said a perfect in the day mascara. One that I will be using for work!

Have you tried any of the BD Trade Secrets products before?!

  1. Ah this is really interesting, the products in my local Tesco were all reduced and gone within a few weeks a while ago, it's great to hear they're coming back, I liked the look of the eyeshadow crayons.

  3. I'm so glad it hasn't been discontinued, it disappeared before I had a chance to try any items last time. The only problem is Tesco is a bit of a mission away from me for some reason, but I think this could make me make that mission haha.
