I am sorry.

Hello there;

I just wanted to pop on and say sorry for my recent absence. If you didn't already know I work in retail and what is coming up.... Yes the "C" word.

Now don't get me wrong I love Christmas Day, I love seeing peoples faces once they have opened up my present to them, and I love seeing what people have got me.

BUT

And that is a big but. I HATE the build up to Christmas, in the shop I work in we start everything and anything in November. So technically I celebrate it for almost 2 months! 2 WHOLE MONTHS. Can you see my frustration.

So due to this, I will be spending a lot of time at work, which means I will have  to sacrifice doing blogs and whatnot as I will just not have the time to do as many as before.

I will try my best for you guys as I have so many things to review all waiting in my bedroom.

Again, I am sorry!

But I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas season and all get some fabulous gifts!

The "Drugstore" Mascara Review

Hello there;

I get complimented on the length of my eyelashes on a weekly basis. Granted they are quite long naturally but I obviously enhance them with a good mascara. I have no single go to mascara, I change it up a bit as I tend to get pretty bored of one certain type of mascara. And I thought it was only fair that I shared my views on the 5 "drugstore" brands that I use.

I hate using the word drugstore, but god how else do I describe it? Not high end? The cheaper ones? Bloody hell I don't know. I guess we've just gotta get over the name and crack on with it right?! Right okay lets go, it's gonna be a long one!

Disclaimer

First things first. I did not curl my eyelashes at all before using the following mascaras, all natural. And on my eyes, I primed them with a little concealer (Collection Lasting Perfection in Light 2) and then set this with my Mac Studio Fix powder in NW25. No editing has been done to enhance the length of the lashes only a little touch up to make the pictures brighter. I also did 2 layers of the mascara on each eye so all of them have a fair chance.

Christmas Lush Haul.

Hello there;

After trying them last couple of the Lush Christmas ballistics bath bombs, I knew I needed to try more of the range. Because I am lazy, online shopping was not, not going to happen. I only went on to spend maybe £15, but £27 later I finally input my payment details.

I was SO happy to see this parcel this morning, as I am currently super poorly and a nice hot lush filled bath was being called for.

Can I just say how impressed I am with the speed this got to me. I placed my order about 4pm on Sunday and I got this on Tuesday. Impressed. Very impressed.

Katie Nails #2

Hello there;

I can't believe how well my last post on my nails went, people from all over the world viewed it. So thank you to you, if you read it!

It's already been 3 weeks since I had them done and boy was they ready for doing again. I had completely lost a little finger nail and half of my thumb nail. But other than that, they stayed pretty well. I had LOADS of compliments on them, so well done Katie for you excellent work.

Now the idea of Katie doing my nails is so she can play and try new ideas. We knew we wanted sparkles on this attempt. Glitter and more glitter. Katie already had an idea in her head, I just needed to pick my colours.

Bonfire Night 2013

Hello there;

Oh how I love Bonfire night. I love the warmth of a fire (unless the smoke is burning my eyes out. Not cool).  I love the firework displays. I love bonfire toffee. I love how everyone can get together and all enjoy something so simple. It may just be my most favourite day in the calendar.

For the past 3 years myself and my boyfriend go into Nottingham to Forest Fields and watch the massive bonfire and firework display. This year we went with our marvellous group of friends ;)
Now it is was a little chilly, so you defiantly need to get wrapped. And it just seemed rude that I didn't do a OOTD, well I guess that should be OOTN, outfit of the night.... yeah okay ill carry on, here it is;

Book Review #1 - Blood, Sweat and Tea

Hello there;

Yes, yes I know. This is mainly a beauty page, slowly turning into a photo page too. But I feel like it is my duty as a online blogger to let you in on my favourite book series of the moment. Blood, Sweat and Tea, by Tom Reynolds.

I was recommended this by my friend Max (hello if you are reading >.<)

Now at first I was a little dubious of what this book would be like, but was it was 99p on the Kindle store, I thought to myself "what is a pound?". Well I am bloody happy that I did buy it. It is so funny in sections, especially when Tom, the author talks about getting "stabby". It is based on a real life paramedic and is taken from Toms online blog. Sadly he does not write on it anymore, but if you wish to view it click here.

I am a huge fan of autobiographies, too nosey for my own good. But this gave me a massive insight  into the world of paramedics. He leaves nothing covered up, from how certain patients make him feel and how he is treated by patients and the LAS (London Ambulance Service). He shows how much he cares for his job and the people involved.

I really don't want to give too much away, but please if you want some light reading this is fantastic.

Have you read this? Or do you know of other books similar; recommend them to me!

Nyx and Cuccio Nail Polishes.

Hello there;

In my previous post, you will see I brought 3 new nail polishes from Pro Beauty North. My Nyx one was a free polish I got from the stand, gotta love Twitter and the things you can find on there.

The Cuccio were on buy 2 get 1 free. So I was desperate for a quick dry solution and it is a great one and it only made sense to buy another 2 products.

Katie Nails #1

Hello there;

If you have read my Pro Beauty North post, you will know that I have a lovely beautician friend called Katie. When we was at Pro Beauty, she went a tiny little bit gel nail polish mad in Harmony Gelish; and brought A LOT of new colours. But this is good news for me. Katie popped round and did my nails and I only had to pay her in lasagne and apple crumble. Good trade if I do say so myself.

Getting set up.

Pro Beauty North.

Hello there;

On Sunday the 13th October, I got invited by my dear friend Katie, to go to Professional Beauty North in Manchester with herself and Cham (another friend of mine). Nowwwwww, I was a little naughty to get into this, as you have to be in the beauty trade. And other than this blog, I am not. So we told a little white lie and made out I was in the trade, hehe.

Luckily for us Manchester is only 90 mins away, it was pretty straight forward getting there. As soon as we parked up it was straight to Subway. Gotta have your priorities right, tummy first. Then we proceeded up to the G-Mex.

Goose Fair 2013

Hello there;

This is a little late, but I totally forgot I had these photos on my camera. I apologise for posting this late.

At the beginning of October every year, Goose Fair rolls into Nottingham and I just adore going. All of the fair rides, the rubbish food, sweets and everyone is there to have a great time!

I went with my friend Charli, who I have mentioned in a previous post. It was lovely to spend some proper time with her, that didn't include the gym. We went on a few rides, which either made us feel sick, in pain or just down right horrible. Still had a giggle though. We ate rubbish food and then topped the evening off with a couple of cocktails at my house and melted chocolate.

Here are a few photos!

I am not the best at taking photos, but I think you get the idea.

These photos might reflect my mood, I might have something to say with it. But usually it will be a photo that I probably found on Tumblr that I really like. So here it goes; hope you like it.

GlossyBox October "Dark Romance"

Hello there;

Its that time of the month again, GlossyBox time. After the last one I was really excited for this one. But if I am honest I am a little disappointed with it. With it coming into the winter months, I was maybe expecting more skin care or a darker shade of lipstick/nail polish.

Hello there;

Now I understand this is a beauty/lifestyle blog. But I currently have a friend. No not just a friend. She is my best friend and she is incredible not herself at the moment. And watching any of your friends struggle with who they are and how they are feeling is upsetting. So I want to write/type this as appreciation on how much I love Charlotte Rose Boylett.

Superdrug Haul.

Hello there;

(Warning, this is a lonnnngggggg post.)

I am a complete sucker for internet shopping, especially when I am skint. For some reason when I have no money, I think spending my remaining pounds online seems completely justifiable. But I think this time it was. (Well that's what I shall keep telling myself)

Now I am a Boots girl through and through. I can easily go in their and spend my entire wage packet. But for some reason I tend to never walk through Superdrug's doors. Why? I have no idea. But one boring night last week I ventured onto the website to see that all so fatal word SALE. Surely it would be rude not to have a look through.

Granted out of the 5 items I brought, only 2 we're in the sale, but, well, I have no excuse. It all came to just under £25.

No the best of photos. Got rubbish light in my living room today -_-! So here is what I got.

L'Oréal Paris Skin Perfection

Hello there;

For a while I have been watching and reading beauty blogs that all rave about Bioderma Cleansing Water. Now as much as I would love to try, my finances at this current moment just can't justify buying it. But don't worry it is on my wish list.

So when L'Oréal brought out their new Skin Perfection range, I was more than excited to try it. Especially when it was on offer for 2 for £6. I think they were £4 something originally. I can't find them on the Tesco website at the moment.

Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish

Hello there;

After work today I went up to the make-up section (always a bad idea for me) and came across this little bad boy for just £2.70 BARGAIN!

Rimmel's 60 Seconds nail polish in 503 Mind The Gap, Victoria.

Such a pretty bluey purple colour. I am really loving the pastel nail polish colours at the moment.

Sadly, I had to do 3 coats of this to get an even finish. The first coat was so wishy washy, it looked horrible. So gappy. I can never understand why they don't make nail polishes thick enough so one coat is just enough...... COME ON  GUYS SORT IT OUT!

Luckily it does what it says on the tin and dries really quickly, so I wasn't wait around for ages scared to touch stuff while my nails dried. Which pleased me.

Even with all that negativity up there, I would recommend this to anyone as its a great colour and in the end, my nails do look rather pretty >.<

Do you guys recommend any of the other colours?!

Let me know!

Jelly Pong Pong & Emite

Hello there;

Heres two more items from augusts Glossybox. Jelly Pong Pong eyeliner and Emite eyelash curlers.

What Jelly Pong Pong say;

The perfect mulit-tasker for travelling, this creamy 2-in-1 crayon can be used to line the eyes as well as smudged and blended eyeshadow. Line as closely as possible to the lash line as eyeliner or smudge outwards to use as an eyeshadow.

£10.50 for full size. www.jellypongpong.com

What I say;

Ill be honest, im not a massive fan of how chunky this is. I like my eyeliners to be slimmer so I can created a thicker line if I need it. But with this, it was a little harder to control as it is thicker to start. I know there is a point to it, but it was still hard to maintain that even line.

It did go on quite easily, not as creamy as I would have liked it, so I had to go over it again to get an even texture. Ive had it on now for a few hours and it hasn't smudged yet. So I will take that as an advantage to it. As no one want their make up falling off their face.

Now I haven't tried this as a eyeshadow but I had a little go on my hand (sorry forgot to take a photo of this) and it didn't smudge as easy as I expected either.

All in all I wouldn't rush out to repurchase this when it has all gone. But it will do for when I am in a rush and I just need to throw in an eyeliner in my make up bag.

Herbal Essences Bee Strong

Hello there;

In this post I am going to be reviewing Herbal Essences Bee Strong.

What Herbal Essences say;

Lay down damage with the Bee Strong nourishing shampoo. This formula works to repair the protective outer layer of each strand of hair to leave it strong against combing damage. You know the drill: Lift it, squeeze it, work it in. Do one more rep. Girl, you are looking strong

£2.25 200ml at Tesco.com

What I say;

Orginally I was drawn in by its lovely colour and the smell of it is AMAZING. It was on an introductory offer at Tesco when I brought it, only costing me £1. Bargain!

When I finally got round to using it, I was so surprised of the difference it made. My hair tends to dry out from shampoos really easily and I have to use loads of conditioner to get it feeling soft. But I find using this makes my hair feel soft already and I only need a tiny bit of conditioner just to maintain that softness. (Up to yet I have used an Aussie 3 minute Miracle Conditioner with it)

The smell lingers on your hair for ages after washing too. Which to me is a massive bonus as I love my hair smelling yummy! I would recommend this to my friends and anyone who is looking for a cheapish shampoo that leaves your hair in a lovely condition.

I have brought the conditioner to go with it; but I am yet to try that out. But as soon as I do I will review that too :)

Please let me know if agree or disagree!

Océane Make Up Remover Pen

Hello there;

The first one I am testing out of Glossybox's August box is the Océane Essential MakeUp Remover Pen.

What Océane say;

This pen delivers the mobile, mess - and fuss - free make-up touch-up/removal solution we have always wanted when stuck on planes, trains and automobiles.
Shake before removal of excess makeup around your eyes, lips and those corners that smear every time you apply makeup.

Not currently for sale in the UK. And I cannot find a price for it. But once I know I shall update this.

What I think;

Its really handy to throw in your makeup bag and the bright pink end makes it stand out really easily.
I did a swatch on my hand of an eyeliner, as I will probably use this the most to correct them annoying eyeliner mistakes. And it did remove the eyeliner rather well. But it did smudge a little. So I had to chase it round my hand a little. Which I do not think will be good if you are trying to correct eye make up. But maybe as a quick win this will do.

What I did notice is that which the black eyeliner is has dyed the end of the nip black, so if you wanted to remove a lighter colour, the black would over power this. But thankfully it comes with a double sided nib, and 3 refills.

It also has quite a distinctive smell that I am not keen on. And I am not very good with smells. So I do not think I could use a lot of this on my skin as it lingers on your skin.

I don't think I would purchase this when it finally arrives in the UK. But ill give it is fair chance in my day to day make up routine.
