Maybelline Baby Skin Cool Rose

Hello there;

Well I never made it a secret that I wasn't a fan of the original Baby Skin, I still use it because I paid for it and I don't want it go to waste. But when Maybelline brought out the Cool Rose as a blogger I got intrigued and had to try it out.

Straight away I noticed that the formulation of this product is completely different to the original Baby Skin. Where that is very silicone like, this is a much creamier formula.
As you can see from the photo also it is a baby pink colour, whereas the original is clear.

This primer is meant to help fight the look of fatigue by blurring, hydrating and smoothing over areas on the face giving you an even base to apply your foundation on to or not. From personal use, you do defiantly notice a difference when this is used. It doesn't 100% cancel out dark circles but it helps calms then, so I don't actually look like death. I have also found it a much better base to apply my make up. My face doesn't feel as greased up with this on compared to mostly silicone based primers.

I am very pleasantly surprised that I love this primer and for £7.99 its a little bargain! Plus Boots usually have offers on, so you just know you can get it cheaper than that!

Have you used Cool Rose yet?!

  1. I have the baby skin pore eraser and like it, as a base for makeup this one sounds good too!

  2. I have never tried this or the original as I'm just not a big primer person since I never see a huge difference to my skin/makeup when using them. This sounds like a much lighter version compared to some offerings out there so will have to check it out x

  5. I bought the original one quite recently as I just had to try it myself but I hate it! The other day I saw the Instant Fatigue Blur in peach shade as well and I was intrigued but didn't pick it up, Now after reading your review I might actually try it :) x

  6. I haven't tried the original Baby Skin as it didn't appeal to me all but I do actually like the sound of this one! I'm not the biggest fan of primers (I've really gone off the Porefessional) but I may give this ago at some point if I can get in on offer ;) xo

  13. I tend to only use a primer on a night out or special occasion. I've been looking for a cheaper one for general daytime use. This one looks like it would work perfectly, love a product that helps dark circles too!

  14. I actually quite like the original Baby Skin, but I also like non-silicone primers so I think I'll get this too. I didn't realise the formulas were different! So thanks :)
