Hello there;
I have had this little beauty in my draw for some while now. Yes I did forget that I had purchased it. Now if have been on here for a while you will be aware of my love for the original Naked 2 palette. Its my go to palette, but it is a little big. When I was made aware that there was going to be a Basic palette version, like the rest of the beauty blogger world, I got VERY excited. Which led to this purchase. Obviously.
Am I the only one who really likes the packaging on this? I like how small it is, perfect to pop into a bag. I like how it feels. I like how the text stands out from the case. I like that is has a mirror that isn't tiny. Its also very light, I find the Naked palettes are pretty weighty. I know they are made out of metal but they are heavy! This is super light weight in comparison.
Compared to the original Naked Basics palette, this one is a lot more cooled toned more taupe based colours. The colours are completely different to the original Naked 2 palette also, which I am pleased about. How much of a rip off would it be if they were the same colours! But don't get me wrong they are pretty similar.
This is one of them palettes that you could take away on holiday and it will have you covered for most makeup looks. With 5 matte shades and a highlight shade you really are set. The formula of these shades are really creamy, minimal fall out, blend together with ease and the pigmentation is fabulous. The swatches below are one swipe.

L - R Skimp, Stark, Frisk, Cover, Primal, Undone Skimp - A beautiful demi-matte peachy highlight shade, this isn't too shimmery. Perfect for highlighting the brow bone or the inner corner of a eye look. Stark - I use this as a all over colour, its great for an even base to start on helping cancel out any veins on your eye. Its also a great colour to just do a quick wash of colour and go! Frisk - This reminds me quite a bit of Tease from the Naked 2 palette, the shade I use to fill in my brows. Frisk is a touch lighter though. Its more of the taupe shade in the palette. Cover - The lighter brown out of the two browns in the palette. Personally I think this is too light to put through the crease once it is blended out there isn't much there. But its a great transitional shade. Primal - I loveee Primal, I think this is my favourite shade out of them all. A beautiful colour to pop in the crease to make a smokey eye look that isn't too over the top. I find it so easy to blend, ahh yes I love it. Undone - A grey/black shade, which is fab for liner very easily smudges out. Like Primal it also blends lovely if you are wanting to intensify your smokey eye look. A very versatile shade. Over all I adore this palette, I would highly recommend getting this palette. For £23 yes it is a little up there in price but this palette is so versatile I do think £23 is justifiable. Have you tried Naked Basics 2? What did you think?
