#LIPHUG

Hello there;

Since I saw the launch of the Make Up Revolutions #Liphug lipsticks. I have been dying to get my hands on them all. But for now three will have to do.

Now I usually got straight for the reds when it comes to a new lipstick, but I think have six red lipsticks now? So I fancied a bit of a change. Break out of my comfort zone a little. So I opted for two pinks and a browny red. Okay okay, I couldn't 100% stay away from a red. But hey I tried right?!

Firstly I love the packaging on these, they look very chic and high end, with the black patent outer with a gold finish to them. To look at you wouldn't think these are only £2.50! Yes one of these is cheaper than a coffee. Just think about that... They also have a very satisfying click when you close the lid on them.

Secondly, the colour selection is unreal, it took me forever to narrow it down to these three. I think I changed my mind about five times. My basket on line had no idea what was going on! The colours I did go for are Want To Leave?, We Have Come Too Far and End With Beginnings. I love how Make Up Revolution name their products. They always remind me of song lyrics or song titles.

On to the lipsticks themselves.

For a lipstick to cost only £2.50, usually your expectations may not be very high and from previous experiences mine weren't either. But Make Up Revolution has changed this entirely. As you can see in the swatches below, they are very pigmented. A couple of swipes and away you go out the door.

They do need topping up throughout the day though, as their staying power isn't great. But I do not see this as a flaw. If anything they last longer than I was expecting. The consistence of the #LipHugs is very silky, they glide on to your lips. I would say that they go on quite sheer at first, but if you apply a couple of layers the colour really stands out. Another plus is these are not drying in the slightest. I usually wear matte lipsticks, so to wear a lipstick that doesn't dry my lips out is quite a novelty. The formulation in #LipHugs is made so the lipstick hugs your lips. Its such a comforting thought! Upon first application it feels like these just glide on, no tugging on your lips. Again another novelty for me as matte lipsticks need to be worked at to be applied.

I am in love with End With Beginnings, it is such a fun girly shade. And not something that people tend to wear this side of Summer. But I love how it brightens my face up when I wear it. Its almost a dupe for my MAC Girl About Town. Overall I am really impressed with #LipHugs for a drugstore lipstick they really have set the bar high, for other brands out there.

I know I will be getting more of these lipsticks over the next couple of months. I am quite literally aiming to get them all. Have you tried any of the #LipHugs yet?!

  9. The colors are pretty. The second and third colors suit my skin tone more. They are so pretty. It is great that they don't dry the lips out. That can sometimes be a problem with lipsticks. Good for you for finding an inexpensive lipstick that you like so much.

  12. All three of these lipsticks are beautiful but "End With Beginnings" looks like it would be my favorite. Is Makeup Revolution only available in the UK? I've never seen it here in the states.
