BB or CC?

Hello there;

My skin is awful. Its slightly hyper pigmented, it has red spots, dark spots, ACTUAL spots. It's a mess. So when I have to be around thousands of people everyday, I know I need something to cover some of these up without doing a full face of make up everyday.

So my question to you, what is better CC or BB?

These are the two I have been testing out.

Rimmel 9-In-1 BB Cream - £6.99 30ml - www.rimmellondon.com

This is what I started off with, it seemed like a good direction to go. This is a 9-in-1 product, it primes, moisturise, minimises pores, conceals, covers, smoothes, mattifies, brightens and helps protect.

Do I think it did all these 9? No.

I didn't find it very mattifying, if anything I looked quite shiny when I first put it on. It took a while to sink it.  And I don't think it minimised any of my pores.

Did I enjoy using it? Yeah, it did pretty much what I wanted it to do. It covered the areas that needed to be covered. It lasted most of the day and it's lasted me a good 5 months. So the price is fantastic to say I used this practically everyday for them 5 months, a little went a long way.

L'Oreal Nude Magique CC Cream - £9.99 30ml - www.l'oreal-paris.co.uk

I brought this product when my BB cream was almost out. I went for the anti-fatigue as I feel my skin is very dull and tired looking.

Unlike the BB, this CC is only a 5-in-1 product claiming to have flawless coverage, perfectly even skin texture, fresh dewy glow, 24hr hydration and SPF 12.

Do I think it does all these? Yes.

It certainly has better coverage than the Rimmel BB, this isn't as thick as covers a little more evenly. Which I like.

A downside is this doesn't come in shades unlike the Rimmel. And I find this is a little too dark for my skin.

So I have to add a powder over the top to even out the colour a little, which is the only downside I can find really with this product.

I still can't decided which is better for me. Am I using the wrong brand? Do I need to always add powder? Urgh so many questions!

Have you tried any of these or any other brands, that you think I will love?

  1. I think I'll have to try the Nude Magique CC! I've been needing a new light-ish coverage/sort of more healthy product to wear on my face every day... thanks for the reviews.

  2. I have only ever used BB cream, but it didn't seem to do much in terms of coverage!
