And I got that red lip, classic thing that you like

Hello there;

When it comes to my make up I am not the best at a smokey eye, in all honesty I don't play about with my twelve eyeshadow palettes enough. Yes twelve. So when I am going out and I want my make up to stand out, my go to item is my red lipsticks. Over the past few years I have grown quite a collection.

In this post I am going to introduce you to six of my favourites.

First up is my most loved, Mac Russian Red its a more of a deeper red than most of the reds I have picked. This is a matte finish but its not as drying as most mattes. Personally I find this one of the best matte lipsticks I have ever come across. It will last me for an entire evening with very minimal top up. Another Mac lipstick I adore is the ever so popular blue toned red; Ruby Woo. Sadly mine has pretty much fully dried up. But can I come to terms with throwing it away? Of course not. This little beauty will sit in my collection and I will keep using it now and again, yano when I forget that its not in its prime anymore.

Moving away from high end to more affordable lipsticks, L'Oreal Blake's Pure Red as you know has become my latest obsession. I'm not going to blabber on about this one too much as I feel it is all I've spoken about recently. If you haven't heard about the next one, then I suggest you move out from under your rock, Makeup Revolution Ultra Velour Lip Creams have made a massive mark on the blogging scene and quite rightly so; with its creamy formulation and moisturising properties they are a fab product to have around. I find  You're not the best, you're not the last* on its own can be a little sheer on its own, but its fantastic to pop on top of another red to give it a little added dimension.

My final two are two that should be spoken about a little more I feel. Rimmel Kate 110 is more of a pinky red, but on my lips it does show up a touch more red. It's a perfect in the day red. Not too garish but not too boring. A lovely lil guy to add to your collection. And finally Motives Raspberry* Burst. This is pretty similar to Russian Red in colour but Raspberry Burst has a sheen to it. Its a one swipe wonder and I adore wearing it. Although I do not wear it enough, I am going to make it my own personal mission to wear this more throughout of February. It gives your lips the most beautiful colour and shine to them.

  10. Mac's Ruby Woo has to be my all time favourite red, even though it is a little drying, but I just apply some lip balm on my lips before applying the lipstick, and the problem is solved.

  15. Oh what lovely red shades!...Can't believe I hadn't read this post until today! I went shopping with a friend last week and I was on the biggest hunt for the Blake lipstick and she shouted at me for wanting to spend money on it, but it's beautiful and well, BLAKE LIVELY!!!
    I need to get more red lipsticks now, I feel my collection is very plum and deep purple tones atm.
