Back to monthly favourites, which are one of my favourite posts to write and read. I just like to be nosey and see what folk are loving. This month only 3 products have really stood out to me;

NYX Face Awards UK - Vanity Vemon

Well my little sugar plums, I am here today to ask a favour. My friend Emily or Vanity Vemon as she is more commonly known as on the Internet; has just placed in the top 10 of the NYX Face Awards.
Amazing I know! So what I want is you to vote for her when the voting is open. I will be tweeting out links and placing the link at the bottom of my upcoming blog posts.

Emily is one of the sweetest people I know, she is a fantastic makeup artist and is willing to give you advice whenever you ask. Her Facebook page Vanity Venom (you can find here) has exploded with over 11k likes on it and all for good reason. Her looks on herself and on other people are incredible, Emily's imagination knows no boundaries. How she comes up with these looks I have no idea, I obviously do not own the creative gene. One of Emily's biggest achievements to date was being flown out to America to be featured on Transformations with James St. James and you can watch that video here! Emily is a massive lover of the drag queen scene and has been featured appearing as some of the UKs top night clubs looking absolutely fabulous. But these are just words, I will let the following photos do the talking. 

Her two looks she has done for the UK NYX Face Awards have been amazing of course. The first round was based on the phrase "Quintessentially British" and the second round was based on a Festival theme. Get Ready With Me

If you follow and read my best friends blog, Charlotte Rose, the chances are you have already seen one of half of this post.

We wanted to do our first ever get ready with me post. But as girls do, we got too wrapped into talking and watching things on my laptop, we ended up having to rush getting ready. Which meant the photo side of it didn't really happen.

But here are some snaps I got from the night.

Primer

Monu Illuminating Primer SPF15 - £24.95 50ml - www.monushop.co.uk

I got this travel size (20ml) in a recent Glossybox and at first I wasn't struck on it as it goes on rather white. But I stuck with it and I love it, after a couple of minutes the whiteness does sink in leaving a smooth canvas for the rest of my make up. I have used it every time I do a full make up look. My foundation sticks to this primer and I feel like it gives me that extra little something.

The "Drugstore" Mascara Review

I get complimented on the length of my eyelashes on a weekly basis. Granted they are quite long naturally but I obviously enhance them with a good mascara. I have no single go to mascara, I change it up a bit as I tend to get pretty bored of one certain type of mascara. And I thought it was only fair that I shared my views on the 5 "drugstore" brands that I use. 

I hate using the word drugstore, but god how else do I describe it? Not high end? The cheaper ones? Bloody hell I don't know. I guess we've just gotta get over the name and crack on with it right?! Right okay lets go, it's gonna be a long one! 

Disclaimer

First things first. I did not curl my eyelashes at all before using the following mascaras, all natural. And on my eyes, I primed them with a little concealer (Collection Lasting Perfection in Light 2) and then set this with my Mac Studio Fix powder in NW25. No editing has been done to enhance the length of the lashes only a little touch up to make the pictures brighter. I also did 2 layers of the mascara on each eye so all of them have a fair chance.

Nyx and Cuccio Nail Polishes.

Hello there;

In my previous post, you will see I brought 3 new nail polishes from Pro Beauty North. My Nyx one was a free polish I got from the stand, gotta love Twitter and the things you can find on there. 

The Cuccio were on buy 2 get 1 free. So I was desperate for a quick dry solution and it is a great one and it only made sense to buy another 2 products.

Hello there;

On Sunday the 13th October, I got invited by my dear friend Katie, to go to Professional Beauty North in Manchester with herself and Cham (another friend of mine). Nowwwwww, I was a little naughty to get into this, as you have to be in the beauty trade. And other than this blog, I am not. So we told a little white lie and made out I was in the trade, hehe.

Luckily for us Manchester is only 90 mins away, it was pretty straight forward getting there. As soon as we parked up it was straight to Subway. Gotta have your priorities right, tummy first. Then we proceeded up to the G-Mex.
